Județ (county) in northwestern Romania, named after one of the most important cities of Transylvania, gained from Hungary 1918/20 and temporarily returned in 1940-4 (the Hungarian county was called Kolosz).

The city of Cluj is called Kolozsvár in Magyar and Klausenburg in German . In present-day Romania it is Cluj-Napoca, the latter part being its Latin name.
