French name of BRITTANY.  Since 1960 it has been an administrative Region, consisting of the Departments of Côtes d’Armor (formerly Côtes-du-Nord), Finistère, Ille-et-Vilaine, and Morbihan, but not Loire-Atlantique, which includes part of the old Duchy, including the great city of Nantes.
