Lordship in central France, in Burgundy.   Its lands are now in the extreme west of the Department of Saône-et-Loire, east of the Loire and of Moulins, the capital of the Bourbonnais.   Despite the name, it was only briefly connected with Bourbonnais, through coming into the possession of Peter of Beaujeu, the last Duke of the senior line, 1488-1503.

(The real connection between the two Bourbons is etymological:  Borvo was the Celtic god of springs).
