Bacchiglione


BACCHIGLIONE

Department in the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy, taking its name from the river on which its capital, Vicenza, stands.  The territory had been Venetian until 1797, when it became Austrian, passing to Napoleonic Italy in 1805.   It became Austrian again in 1814.
