Petty Moslem kingdom in southernmost Spain from 1012 until it was added to the  Kingdom of Seville in 1066.   It was named after its capital, which stands on the River Guadiana, northeast of Cádiz.   The town was taken by Castile c.1262, and became Arcos de la Frontera, being then near the border with the Kingdom of Granada.   It is now in the province of Cádiz.
